Properties of a Good Fertilizer

We need a good diet for our growth; the plants require good nutrients. Fertilizers play a vital role in providing all the required nutrients for a plant growth. It will be wise to choose a fertilizer which work both as “Soil Conditioner” and also “provide enough required nutrients for the plants”.

A chemical fertilizer will make the soil lose its natural capabilities, which will have direct impact to the plants. Furthermore, the artificial fertilizers cause nitrogen in the soil to leach out faster, which results in addition of more fertilizers to the plants.

On the other hand, organic fertilizer will have balanced nutrients, which will be very good for the plants. Earth’s Honey organic fertilizer is the best organic fertilizer in Ontario region in Canada. The organic fertilizer will support the soil for healthy growth of plants & micro-organisms.

The 3 essential plant nutrients in fertilizers are N-P-K (Nitrogen, Phosphorous, and Potassium). Different crops require different proportion of N-P-K. A good fertilizer must be soluble when it reaches roots of the plant. Soil microbes will convert these organic fertilizers into soluble nutrients that can then be absorbed by the plants.

Organic fertilizer will have a correct range of pH (6-6.5). In case of low pH, soil lacks nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium, magnesium, sulfur, and calcium; whereas soil with high pH lacks iron, zinc, copper, manganese, and boron.
